Publish Umbraco Starter Kits Sites in IIS 7.5.

    Development Machine Environment

Windows 7 Os, IIS ver 7.5, .Net Framework 4.0, Umbraco ver 6.0.6

I am unable to Run Sample Sites viz Bakery, Photo gallery and Corporate Sites in IIS ver 7.5. Unable to process .cshtml files, ISAPI Filter, CGI script etc.

Can you elaborate the steps for publishing and running the Umbraco sites with all IIS ver 7.5 configuration settings ?.

Thanks & Regards, Prashant S Akerkar

    Hi Prashant,

Did you see the minimums requirements for running Umbraco, and please also make sure that you have the right file and folder permissions.

    Requirements:

    https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Getting-Started/Setup/Requirements/

    File and folder permissions:

    https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Getting-Started/Setup/Server-Setup/permissions

For a manully installtion of Umbraco check out this documentation. https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/install-umbraco-manually

If you can't get the manual installation to work you have few other options to install Umbraco. https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Getting-Started/Setup/Install/

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

    Dennis

    Thanks.

I was able to run the Sample site Bakery on my Development machine by configuring IIS 7.5 Settings viz Authentication, ISAPI, CGI Filter, Mapper Handler Settings.

I will apply the same settings on Windows Server 2012 - IIS 8.0 for publishing sites.

I want to convert some existing corporate sites which was built on .Net Framework 4.0 - Webforms and not MVC for integrating Umbraco CMS.

How easy or difficult is to convert these into Umbraco sites ?.

Thanks & Regards, Prashant S Akerkar

    Hi Prashant,

I think that you should have a look at the Umbraco TV website. www.umbraco.tv there you will find some video toturials that shows the basic concepts of working in Umbraco CMS.

    http://umbraco.tv/videos/umbraco-v7/implementor/

Some of the videos are free to watch and some requires that you subscribe to the Umbraco TV service. You can find the different plans here: http://umbraco.tv/plans-signup

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis
