    Logging in Umbraco

    Hi,

as far as If there is an error, Umbraco will log into Database.

Is that possible if it logs to file ? how to do it ? is it using Microsoft.Pattern.Logging ?

    Thanks

No, Umbraco uses its own custom logging implementation.

There is a Log4Net project available for Umbraco, but I don't know what it does (other than reading the project overview): http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/log4net-for-umbraco

    Thanks..

I want to implement it using Enterprise Library Logging Application Block...

But it seems many opensource project prefer to use.. Log4Net...

Do you know why ? Is it better then enterprise Library / there is licencing issue ?

    Thanks

Enterprise library is really bloated for what it gives you.

As for why open source projects often choose log4net, you'd have to ask them.
