I have installed the Google Maps Datatype. I am using Umbraco 4.5.2. I have the data type set up, everything in the package, I have successfully added the Google API key and the map is showing up in my maps tab in the admin.
BUT, when I go to search for a location the search does nothing. Does not fire anything. No pins show up, no location, no lat or long shows up. Is this and issue with 4.5.2 or with the package in general? This is a really great package but is it me, the package or Umbraco?
This package unfortunately isn't yet ready for 4.5. You could try and hunt down the problem by having a look at javascript errors, the umbracoLog table and the windows event viewer.
Yeh, he only wrote them for 4.5.1 DLLs. I was still having an issue with plotting points or getting the location to search and get the coordinates in the map in the admin. I am going to Firebug it and see if anything comes up.

@Sebastiaan,
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I will look into it and post what I find.
I see now that there has been a new release that should be compatible with 4.5.

We are using 4.5.2 and .Net 4.0. Shouldn't make too much of a difference, may just be some Javascript issues or something. Still looking into it.
is working on a reply...
