I am new to Umbraco and after looking through with the various others CMS I have decide to exploring this. Its very nice and pretty easy to setup. I am not sure whether umbraco will help me or do I need to develop the application from scratch.
I want to develop the dynamic driven web application for a multi website. In a big picture if say something like that providing a users. to the clients. When user register he will get one instance of website and have its own pages and administrator site to manage the contents. could be hosted like user1.mysite.com
second user will also get the its own website pages and seperate admin site to manage the contents and can be hosted on user2.mysite.com
and so on and on.
of course, there will be only one Umbraco installation. I am sure I can add new tables and create a new aspx pages and plug in my data access layer in order to meet the new functionality.
Don't really have answers, but a few more questions:
Will
the multiple sites share similar designs and templates?
Will the admin user be using the umbraco interface to manage their site
or something that you will provide?
The main administrator will not having any direct interface for managing the contents of the users website. users will be responsible for their own contents. but ofcourse main admin are sort of responsible for managing the users and site in a big picture.
ideally, user can choose predefined template for their website but for now, the main architecture / design layout will be same for the all user's.
