Looking for a solution to keep a node of events in order by date. No luck finding a package that works and due to a bug in 4.5.2, can't manually sort when there is a "remove at" date.
Don't you have a date property set? I think it's bad practice to solely rely on umbraco's create/update date etc.
So usually when I'm creating news, events and etc. I add a date property with a datepicker with time. In that way it's possible to sort the nodes any way you like to using a simple XSLT macro.
There is a seperate date field, i.e. news release date or event date. I'd like the content nodes sorted by those dates to make it easier to manage content in the backend.
I guess you have tried Document Sorter but are still having problems getting it working? I have used this package for this exact purpose with no problems in the past
I think I finally got it working, but the real problem lies with a bug I saw mentioned in another thread... sorting bombs if you have "Remove at" dates on your content. This causes any sorting to fail. When you sort you end up with duplicated sort orders.
Need ability to auto sort nodes by date

Connie, do you have problems sorting the nodes in the back office or on the frontend of your site?

In the back office.

Yeah, just can't get it to work, nothing sorts.
