I'm an umbraco newbie and would like to know how feasible it is to change the system so that users can be authenticated via information held in a session variable rather than having to log into umbraco. As the system would be on an Intranet I don't want them having to log in a second time when I can already authenticate them.
Has anyone done this and could you give me a few pointers? Does the membership package the functionality I am looking for?
Content authors, I don't want them to have to log in twice. Website members will be able to view the pages but I do not want them to be automatically logged into canvas mode.
Authenticate without login
Hi,

Thanks in advance.

I am trying to work out what the code is doing in the login page but cannot find the code behind file. Can anyone tell me where it is?
Thanks
When you say users, do you mean content authors etc. who log-in to Umbraco to edit pages or do you mean website members?
