    Restrict properties to certain users

How do you make some fields (ie. document properties) readonly or hidden to some users?

eg. Some users should not be able to edit a Warehouse address, but still be able to edit it's coordinate (for map purpose)

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Hardi

There is package that provides this type of functionality - http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/uhidesy

I have recently installed it and am admittedly experiencing some issues with the package but I am sure they will be sorted in due course.

From what I have seen so far it is a very good package.

    Cheers

    Nigel

Thanks Nigel. It seems to be similar as Tab Hider and Disabled Properties described here

    http://our.umbraco.org/forum/using/ui-questions/15644-umbraco-properties-read-only-or-hidden-completely-

However they cannot make certain fields read-only (ie. they can see it but not edit it) for some users.

There may be no solution to this. Thanks anyway.
