You should be able to use any of the built in MembershipProviders for Active Directory /Windows, to authenticate. However, Umbraco Members is sort of a hybrid between a Membership Provider and a Profile Provider. So you won't be able to edit any properties on those members.
so when the active directory on different server, should I point the umbraco to the AD server? Right now when I tried to add a member, It ask me if I want to use Social Member or WebUser. Which one should i use for Actie Directory account? Thanks.
Using Active Directory users to login to Umbraco membership page
Hi,
I try to create a code that allow the Active Directory users to login to Umbraco member page.
I tried to follow codes from here, but It keeps getting me errors, maybe the code not complete yet?
http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/how-tos/membership-providers/use-active-directory-to-authenticate-site-members-%28intranet%29
Anybody know how to do this? Thank you.
