From experience non technical users invariably upload large jpg images to their site. Then in the media section they don't display well and you have left-right / up-down scrolling. Also it is more of an issue if trying to apply crops to the image.
One feature of Umbraco I have just discovered by accident is that when inserting an image into the RTE and you override the default dimensions of an image, a copy of the image is created at the dimensions entered and saved within the same folder as the original image. Very very cool.
Howeverin your opinion would it be useful to have a custom control available on an Image Media Type whereby the original image can be resized and saved?
