What I want to do is create a new datatype that will use a Richtext-editor. I have the need for a datatype in which I can supply a max-length. Everything above will be truncated. I found this package (http://www.nibble.be/?p=49) which does the same, but with a multiline textbox. For my needs, I need a Richtext-editor.
So I was thinking it would be fun to create this and play around with it. So I found this presentation by Tim (http://www.nibble.be/?p=101) where he explains how to create your own datatypes with custom validation and such, and I think this is what I have to use.
What I don't understand is what I have to do to make sure that the editor I'm limiting is indeed a Richtext-editor (or a Simple Editor) and not just a textbox?
Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
