I am new to Umbraco and have just setup a search function on my site, using Examine & a .Net user control, as detailed in the videos on Umbraco TV
This is working fine, but I have some pages that should not be visible to everyone on the site. They are controlled by the 'Public Access' setting. At the moment, these are being shown in the search results (although the user is asked for a password when they try to click any of these links)
I need the search to exclude any page that does not have public access, i.e. has a role in Public Access, so that these pages don't show up in the results.
Search with examine - exclude non-public pages
Hi
I am new to Umbraco and have just setup a search function on my site, using Examine & a .Net user control, as detailed in the videos on Umbraco TV
This is working fine, but I have some pages that should not be visible to everyone on the site. They are controlled by the 'Public Access' setting. At the moment, these are being shown in the search results (although the user is asked for a password when they try to click any of these links)
I need the search to exclude any page that does not have public access, i.e. has a role in Public Access, so that these pages don't show up in the results.
I'd be grateful for any help on how to do this.
Many thanks
Best regards
Carl
