Are there any existing Umbraco packages that make it easy to generate and ICS calendar file and link so users can easily add an event (that's an Umbraco content node) to their personal calendar?
I don't need the calendar, just the ability for my users to create the ICS file and link. I also need it for Umbraco 6.x, both of those are for Umbraco 4.
It looks like I can create an XSLT that will create the data in the right format, just not sure of the details.
You could download Business Website Starter Pack and either install it or just unpack the zip-file and check one of the events xslt files, which has a download link, which generate an .ics file with the event data..
Depending on your web hosts setup you might need the add the MIME type, but you could try to test it on a local install first ...
