I have created one schools dropdown data type like below, i am using umbraco 7.1.2 version
Here dropdown values are not comming, showing only text. My issue is while slecting dropdown in admin site not picking the seleted value in dropdown control like below
I didnt get any errors on this, even i am getting dropdown selected text in template showing in website output. only issue is not able to see the selected value in admin site.

Aaah ok, I see - Hmm...I'm thinking it might be a bug with the particular version of Umbraco perhaps.
Is it possible for you to try and install a fresh version of Umbraco 7.2.2 and setup a quick test to see if you get the same issue within it? If not you should perhaps consider upgrading from 7.1.2 to 7.2.2.

That's indeed a weird issue - Are you getting any errors in the browsers console log when trying to select a value?
Also it might be a good idea to check the /App_Data/Logs file and see if it reveals anything related to the issue.
