First of all, this is not a "how do I do this?" kind of question.

I want to learn how to make this myself, but I need some guidance in the right direction.

This is what I want: I want the possibility to load a list of items from a webservice (e.g. Google Picasa Albums of a single user) to show up in the back-end. The user should be able to select (in this case) Albums to show on the front-end. I want to save the selected album info in a table, and use that table to fill the front-end.

I would love it, if it was possible to create a "album" node for each saved album, but I don't know if that is possible.

But where do I start? Do I need a property-editor? Or a Section? Or something else?

Please help me get started in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
