    TinyMCE in Umbraco 3

    Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to add a new Rich Text Editor in Umbraco 3.0.6 like TinyMCE 3 ? and how to do this ?

In fact , i had some problems when i past content from Word in TinyMCE 2 (layout, numbering, etc.) and that's why i would like to try another RTE.

Pasting from Word is always a problem because what you're pasting is often valid (if extremely ugly) html. That doesn't really change with other RTE's, not even TinyMCE 3. For all the work you'd put into changing the RTE it would be much easier to paste the content as flat text rather than richtext from Word. At least, that's how I do it.

You may find that you get slightly different behavior on pasting if you the the ctrl-v (or cmd-v on mac) or the paste icon on the toolbar.

    cheers,
    doug.

Also, depending on your situation, you could set up a Content Channel in umbraco and post your content directly from Word 2007 using the metaweblog api, treating your site as a sort of blog. When you use Word to publish through the metablog api into umbraco the markup is amazingly lean and clean.

    cheers,
    doug.

    Hi Doug,

    Thanks for your response.
In fact when i try to paste my content (list numbering)from Word to TinyMCE 2, i get a layout with span tags instead of ol and li tags.
Users of the web site are used to copy/paste text from Word and they don't know HTML to edit the flat text and get the same layout in TinyMCE.

I tried to paste a content from Word with the RTE CKEditor and it worked well, that's why i want to add a RTE to Umbraco.

I also tried the solution of content channel (http://forum.umbraco.org/yaf_postst5595_Using-Word-for-editing.aspx)
The layout is better with this, but we have to create a user/content channel per document type.
