    Staging site, publish to live?

    Hi Guys,

I have been asked if it is possible to have a staging site where pages can be setup and previewed, and then have then pushed to a live site. Does anybody know if this is possible with umbraco?

I'm thinking I would have 2 sites, staging and live. Live would have it's admin disabled / removed, then build something extra in umbraco to then push the database and all files over to live. Has anybody done this before? Or does anybody have any pointers on where to start?

    Many thanks

    Matt

This is what Courier does (a part of the PRO package). It'll also discover dependencies, update link ids, macro ids, etc.

Courier is meant to do this: http://umbraco.org/products/umbraco-courier

However, courier doesn't move document types or datatypes from what I have heard.

Did you end up using Courier?  Or did you do a custom process?

We have tried a few strategies for this, but are not really completely happy with any of them.  Courier is OK, but it has issues for editors and has been a bit buggy at times.  Not sure if 2.0 will fix all the issues, but just checking for other options.

    Thanks,
    Jason

I've a scenario where we have multiple regions like Test, Model and production. Within each region, we have multiple servers. Does umbraco support publishing to multiple servers within a region? Can you anyone help with documentation or some useful material? How to set up for this scenario?
