is there a built-in umbraco extension/library that allow me to build a quick/simple report ? the database source isn't umbraco though.
how does someone build a report in umbraco ? please advice
What kind of report do you want your requirements are too vague. More than likely you would do it by building a custom dashboard control and maybe application trees if you want more than one report and user can select from left hand navigation in the CMS see http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/reference/backoffice-apis/tree-api-to-create-custom-treesapplications and http://umbraco.org/documentation/videos/for-developers though the videos are not free but well worth money in the time it will save.
