Error with Blog4Umbraco & XSLT on install

    Hi all,

I have a new Umbraco installation (4.5 for .NET 3.5) and I have loaded Blog4Umbraco package 2.0.26, however on loading the default page I get this:

    Any ideas?

    Hi Daryl

What does the XSLT look like? Is it using the old or the new schema?

For debugging make sure to add umbDebugShowTrace=true to your querystring and have a look at the error messages you see in the list.

The problem was that the Umbraco installation was too new. I installed a 4.0.42 site and it works fine, it actually says 4.0.x on the project page, so that's a d'oh! for me.

It should probably work fine if you enable the legacy schema in a 4.5 site though!

And did you remember to republish the entire site after the change to legacy?

Yes I did, but it did not resolve the problem.

I have installed a 4.0.42 site now and it is running fine.

For future reference, on codeplex, this comment makes a lot of sense:

Great. After installing in Umbraco 4.5.1 had to remove the /BIN/ in the XsltExtensions.config file because of Error parsing XSLT file: \xslt\

This should fix your XSLT problems, indeed the notation without /bin/ is new in 4.5+
