Syntax in outputting result of macro into an attribute on the template

Perhaps I'm abusing XSLT a little here (?)

But what i want to do is output the result of my Macro into a url (a href attribute!).

I have a GetRegion macro which returns a parent node name as a string (e.g. England) and I want the menu links to contain this to provide a link to the relevant node.

I'm trying to do something in the template like... (syntax very wrong!)...
• } /search.aspx">Search

  •
E.g. output I want
    Search

Is this possible - ideally I don't want the macro to output the entire
  • structure as then I'd have to write a GetRegionSearchLink, GetRegionAboutUsLink etc etc...
