      Version 3.0.1 - For umbraco 4.5+ and new XML schema
                      Fixed xslt error when a previewed field had fewer than six characters
                      Changed default behavior to only search within current site if source node id is not specified (better for multiple sites in one installation)
                      Multi-site searching made easier. Now searches only within the current site if the source= parameter is not specified (better for multiple sites in one installation)

    When you embed the XSLT search macro in your template there are a number of settings.   You need to tell XSLT search what fields to look in.

    Its possible that you have not specified the fields from those document types you have specified.    Inheritence in document types has no effect on how XSLT sees the documents.

    Hey Praveen,

    As Peter Mentioned earlier you need to tell XSLT search what are the fields you want it to search for. And if you want your search to look through the whole website you need to set the source to -1 as per Doug Documentation.

    <form method="get"action="search.aspx?">

    <umbraco:Macrosource="-1"searchFields="@nodeName,bodyText,metaDescription"previewFields="@nodeName,bodyText,metaDescription"searchBoxLocation="None"previewType="Beginning"resultsPerPage="5"previewChars="225"showPageRange="1"showOrdinals="1"showScores="0"showStats="0"Alias="XSLTsearch"runat="server">umbraco:Macro>
    </form>

    Hope this helps

    Hello Peter, many thanks for the quick reply, but my question is why is the search working on the top menu i.e.  - Home
      - Services
      - About Us
      - Contact

    AND not on the "Left Hand Menu"
         --FAQ
         --Background
         --Issues
         --Reasons

    Many thanks for your help again.

    Regards
