Is there a way to customize XSLTSearch critiria so that the search term must equal the word it finds?

Maybe I was not clear with my question. I am using the XSLTSearch version 2.7. I need to customize it so that the search term I am searching for must match the word it finds. For example, right now when I do a search for "ward" results will find with words like"award"
"inward"
"john ward"
etc
I want it so that the result will only have
