Where i can find a developer who will support and extend my e-commerce package? $

my umbraco package is a simple web-shop, which loads all the stuff (items, pics etc ) from another system (via rest api). i need to add new functions: personal account page with order history etc, add registration for new users, restore password, add delivery details page & address location via google maps,

I cant figure out where and how to find umbracо developers.. Is there any web site for this?

what is the average cost of the working hour of umbraco developers?

    Hi karmatron,

What Umbraco eCommerce package do you want to use?

    Find Umbraco developers extremelly easy:

    1) List of certified Umbraco developers:

    https://umbraco.com/certified-partners/find-a-certified-developer/?group=4.1

    https://umbraco.com/certified-partners/find-a-certified-developer/?group=4.2

    2) Freelance portals

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Level 2 is higher.

I think you will find if you send few emails, not tons.

Also you can create job post here - https://our.umbraco.org/forum/jobs/jobs/ or leave email in this topic, somebody from community will contact you.

    Thanks, Alex

i cant create job post there - that forum is readonly (( i've sent few emails - no response yet :(

most of developers in the lists of certified developers don't have any links to their contacts

i already believe that umbraco community is a secret sect)))))

Not quoting but just curious what rate were you expecting?

recenly I used to deal with c# developers at freelance sites at fair 20$ per hour

Hate to tell you, $20 an hour is, in my opinion is very very cheap. Possibly at an intern/student price rate. It also depends on the type of work you are getting done, if it is very specialised then you have to expect more.

Realistically, I would expect Umbraco freelancers to be charging between £50 -> £100 [GBP] ($66->$130 [USD]) per hour subject to their skill level.

I'm assuming you've given them a full specification of the work you wanted doing with sufficient detail that they can accurately identify how long it is "likely" to take? If not, then prices will include some sort of buffer to cater for things that don't go to plan, or aren't clear.

I would have thought £50ph is not unreasonable as its £400pd on an 8 hour day and 8K a month (plus tax) - which is what most banks pay for MVC, C# developers!

Charging $150ph is really trying to screw the end-user...

    i've made some quick research:

    enter image description here

$40-$50 per hour is a normal for average c# developer.

Just an observation, Salaried employment estimates aren't the same as freelance. The costs are also country specific, so looking at current US rates and trying to get that somewhere else might not be possible.

I would also say that there's a clondike in Russia (monthly rates, after taxes):

    enter image description here

assume the good rate at 140 000 RUR per month (net) = $2121 USD

add all the taxes around 50% => we get $3200 USD per month (gross)

    it's a $18 USD per hour

    any questions?

The hourly rate seems very important to you (which I understand), but be aware that going cheap this way does not at all guarantee you will get the best and cheapest solution at the end.

Keep in mind that it's not only about hourly rate when working on a solution. Someone with lots of experience might have already spend years on something that can be reused for you ...

In this context, asking 12000 euro for 75 hours of work does not necessarily mean that person is "screwing the end-user". Especially when this means that you get what you want and within the time you want.

Ok, it's not the amount you were looking for ... but that's life ;-)

Further, keep in mind that becoming an Umbraco certified partner, getting Umbraco training, visiting conferences, etc. offer tremendous value for developers and their customers, but also come with a price...

Just to give an indication what kind of pricing is used for certification, training, conferences:

    - Umbraco certified partner: Gold - annual fee: EUR 9,995

    - Umbraco training

      Fundamentals - € 1195,-

      One of the bootcamps - € 795,-

      Two bootcamps - € 1495,-

      All three bootcamps - € 2095,-

      Fundamentals + 1 bootcamps - € 1945,-

      Fundamentals + 2 bootcamps - € 2595,-

      Fundamentals + 3 bootcamps - € 2995,-

    - Conferences

      Codegarden - € 600,-

I hope this puts things more in perspective.

Hopefully you will find someone that can deliver exactly what you want and with the right pricing!

Today I got another offer of $25 PH from another developer, but I already made a decision to force my existing cheap c# developers to dig into Umbraco, learn it and realise all the features we need. It would be longer, but much cheaper and perspectively.

If they are just ramping up on Umbraco, here are a couple of resources they can start with:

Could save them a ton of time in the learning process.

Looks about the same as a Microsoft Certified developer - and the going rate for them is £450 PD in a bank and about 300PD everywhere else.

And my PHD educated colleague who works as a rocket scientist in the bank barely makes $150 PH so not sure where your going with this...

For your information, I've just contacted a developer in the UK with the following:

Level 2 Certified, 2011/12 MVP and Core team member with over 10 years experience

    And he's only charging 600 PD - so a total of £6K for the 75hours on a 7.5hour day

I stand by my comments that the end-user is being shafted by the OP's company....
