    Custom notification from C# code

    Developing Packages
    Umbraco 7

    I'm developing an Umbraco package and have got custom notifications working just fine from my angular controllers. I understand that you can send notifications from content & member events, but I would like to send to the front end from within some C# code that is checking an external service and running in the background on the site.

    I've found these posts on our that talk about this, but can't get my head around what i need to do:
