we have a listview set up for our blog posts
but the orderby list only shows a few items and nothing custom. I would like to order by the postDate but it doesn't show up in the list.
not all of the blog posts have a postDate yet, but i'd think if there isn't a value in the object then it would just not order it.
Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately that's not worked. I have changed the controller settings so that it displays properly on the front end but i still can't order by the PostDate field
how do i order by a custom field in back office

Can someone tell me where i am going wrong?
Hi Dan and welcome to our.
Have tried to save the list view after you have added the custom fields to the list view.
After you have saved the list view data type, then you should see the custom fields in the sort by dropdown
Hope this helps,

Hi Dan,
What version of Umbraco CMS are you using at the moment, if you are using a version lower than 7.5.0 then I think that you have hit into http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-8749 and http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-6003
Then you need to upgrade to at least 7.5.0.
Hope this helps,
/Dennis
Hi Dennis,
we're on 7.4.3 and the links you've sent should help.
Thanks for your help mate, I appreciate it,
Hi Dan,
