Have you had a look at the Moriyama Azure Search package?

and associated repository:
https://github.com/darrenferguson/UmbracoAzureSearch/blob/master/README.md
Have used on a couple of sites now, it's great for taxonomies and facets, so would probably lend itself to ecommerce site quite well.
