    Accessing ApplicationContext.Current.DatabaseContext.Database in IApplicationEventHandler results in sql issues

    Consider below piece of code:

    public class EventHandler : IApplicationEventHandler
{
    public void OnApplicationInitialized(UmbracoApplicationBase umbracoApplication, ApplicationContext applicationContext) { }

    public void OnApplicationStarting(UmbracoApplicationBase umbracoApplication, ApplicationContext applicationContext) { }

    public void OnApplicationStarted(UmbracoApplicationBase umbracoApplication, ApplicationContext applicationContext)
    {
        ContentService.Publishing += ContentServiceOnPublishing;
    }

    private void ContentServiceOnPublishing(IPublishingStrategy sender, PublishEventArgs<IContent> e)
    {
        using (var db = ApplicationContext.Current.DatabaseContext.Database)
        {
        }
    }
}

    which used to work fine pre v7.7.6, yet since upgrade to v7.7.6, results in sql issues (reported in log file)

    Am I not supposed to use it anymore or is this a bug? Looks like a bug to me, unless someone convinces me otherwise!

    As far as I know you do not need to do a using of the Database object. Can access directly by placing in a variable.

    public class EventHandler : IApplicationEventHandler
{
    public void OnApplicationInitialized(UmbracoApplicationBase umbracoApplication, ApplicationContext applicationContext) { }

    public void OnApplicationStarting(UmbracoApplicationBase umbracoApplication, ApplicationContext applicationContext) { }

    public void OnApplicationStarted(UmbracoApplicationBase umbracoApplication, ApplicationContext applicationContext)
    {
        ContentService.Publishing += ContentServiceOnPublishing;
    }

    private void ContentServiceOnPublishing(IPublishingStrategy sender, PublishEventArgs<IContent> e)
    {
      var db = ApplicationContext.Current.DatabaseContext.Database;

        var sql = new Sql().Select("*").From<TEntity>();

        var result = db.Query<TEntity>(sql);

    }
}
