Custom data source in multinode tree picker

    Hey everyone,

I would like to add my own custom datasource to the multinodetreepicker data type. Any suggestions on how to get started?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dempsey,

The MNTP does not support custom datasources.

I think you should use nuPickers : https://our.umbraco.com/projects/backoffice-extensions/nupickers/

This supports several types of datasources (eg. .NET, Examine, SQL,,...) and also has different pickers (dropdown, checkbox, lists,...)

The pickers also support custom labels so you can change how the data is displayed,

    hi Dempsey,

Here is a article i wrote a few years back about nuPickers as an alternative to MNTP : https://skrift.io/articles/archive/the-king-is-dead-long-live-the-king/

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply and the detailled information. I had already looked at nuPickers but it didn't live up to my needs and expectations.

I decided to build my own custom property editor so it's look & feel is more like the current umbraco content picker, utilizing the umb-overlay etc...

    Kind regards, Dempsey

    Hi Dempsey,

Do you have code available or a package for this?

It would really help me out right now.

    Thanks,

    Colin
