I'm looking to create an Umbraco site to store/archive a large photo collection. My issue is with caption data - captions are really important and I'm not a fan of typing so I want to use the IPTC/EXIF captions I've already entered and not have to duplicate the process after I've uploaded the file.
Ideally what I need to be able to do is upload a bunch of photos simultaneously, and for Umbraco to examine them, read the IPTC caption data in the JPEG file, and to save it into a custom property field which I can use to display and search with later.
My issue is how to do this really - I have a few thoughts but before I go off on a random tangent has anyone done this before and if so, could you point me in the right direction?
Using IPTC data in media items
Hello :)

Cheers! Mike.
