What is everyone using these days to index and display a list of PDFs? UmbracoExamine.PDF hasn't been updated in 4 years. Is it still compatible with Umbraco 7.14?
We had a request from our client to create an XML PDF sitemap a few weeks ago and we ended using the MediaService - I know, this is not a good approach, but since it's not an exposed page (only accessible from the XML sitemap page) we did that and I didn't notice a huge performance issue - I guess that they don't have a lot of PDF files.
But I would want to know that too. A request came up a few days ago to index PDF files within the site search. We are using Full Text Search and I don't know yet how will we accomplish this.
Are you indexing PDFs site wide? We want to index PDFs in a certain Media folder, i.e. ones of a certain category. We want to search just permits or just user guides or just xyz.
