I want to place a subdirectory within the umbraco 8 project, that subdirectory contains a different application with its own web confir, when I create the virtual directory and then turn this into an application, when running it on the web the second site asks for Umbraco libraries. Posr what happens?
You can add your directory here in main web.config and Umbraco will ignore anything under that directory.
Additionally, I think you might need to add few additional reference in the config file in your app web.config but you will be able to see them from the error page when you try running your app.
