I just finished installing Umbraco 4.0.4.2 through the Web Platform Installer. Everything goes as smooth as silk and then when I launch it for the first time, I get redirected to http://localhost/install/default.aspx?redir=true&url=/apconference/install/default.aspx which then promptly fails and returns the error message "The resource cannot be found"
Anyone know how I can solve this?
This is on Windows 7 Ultimate x64, IIS 7, fresh install (download might be a better description), still haven't seen the default page.
I googled like mad, but could not find the same or similar post on the forum.

Never mind.
I manage to solve it by installing at as root. But I'm surprised at the default behavior.
I believe the current version has to be installed at the root, and the next version will support virtual directories
