    Upgrade Umbraco

    Hi,

    Do I need to upgrade an active website with Umbraco 4.0.3 to Umbraco 4.5 for security issues?

    You can view the release of each version and features/bug fixes here http://umbraco.codeplex.com/releases/view/47241

    4.0.4.2 is a release which fixes a 4.0.3 date issue http://umbraco.codeplex.com/releases/view/37337  no security fixes are mentioned.

    So the simple answer (in my opinion) is no, if you are not experiencing any date issues you can stay with 4.0.3 (if you are then it's a simple upgrade to 4.0.4.2)

    4.5 in general will take a little work and some testing to upgrade to, so unless you specifically need any 4.5 functionality then you can stick with your current version or 4.0.4.2.
