    Upgrading to 4.5.1

Whats the process for upgrading to 4.5.1 from 4.5?

Copy Bin, umbraco & umbraco_client and update web.config or is there something else?

You shouldn't need to update the web.config yourself, that should be manually handled by the upgrade wizard once you deploy the new assemblies and files (otherwise yes, you just need to copy those three folders)

Not sure if anything has changed in the database, but whenever I upgrade I tend to run the installer just to make sure. So be sure to copy over /install as well.

And don't forget to take a backup first! :)

    Yes. Backup first :)

I just canned my whole install....did the instructions above...(it was only a learning install anyway)

Can't say I'm not feeling frustrated right now....

I'm a noobie, but wish there was just a click here button ...and yoink.

There was some error I got that I didn't care to read :) I think I'll just do a new install...seems easier...

    For minor point releases, I have only been copying/replacing the following folders: /bin, /install, /umbraco, /umbraco_client - all other folders/files contain user-data.

Always check the release notes / changelog for any changes to the /config files.

    Cheers, Lee.

Is there any documentation for upgrading?I can't seem to find any instructions.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a seamless upgrade, by which umbraco does the backup, install of the upgrade, so that we dont need to ?

OK, copied the 3 directories and updated the web.config manually.

Didn't copy /install or run the upgrade.

I couldn't find any release notes and the change log doesn't help much. Everything looks OK after a quick test.
