Directory Listing Denied This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.
Hi,
this is what I see instead of a web page on a public server. It works fine on my local computer. I've created in IIS new website, default.aspx is on top spot, followed the instructions for Plesk,....
I've published one web page on that server before (umbraco CMS),but this page was a default page in my IIS.I'm wondering if the problem is within IIS,since last web page is not the default page.
But THX for the advice,I'll check if the client has the right package.
One more question, Tim. How do I check if .Net is on the allowed website extensions? If the page is working on my local computer, then I assume it's enabled.Am i right?
Are you running IIS6 or 7? A quick way to test would be to upload a simple (non-umbraco) .aspx page that response.writes "Hello World" or similar and see if that works. If it doesn't IIS may not be set up right.
.Net is enabled in IIS, so if it works on your local computer, that won't affect the live server, which could be set u completely differently.......

These are all a bit obvious, but all I can think of off the top of my head:
Is .Net enabled on the allowed website extensions (really obvious, but you never know!)?
Is .Net installed and registered with IIS on the server?

I also had this problem today. I fixed it by adding "default.aspx" as a default content page under the "Documents" Tab on IIS.
