    WPI - Login Failed for User 'umbracoUser'

    Hi All

    I'm getting this message

    Login Failed for User 'umbracoUser'

    When I try to install umbraco using the WPI. I've created a new database with a user and password but I can't connect to it.

    (I've tried the manual install and hit some hurdles there too)

    Any help most appreciated.

    Colin,

    Did you enable sql authentication or mixed authentication mode on your sql server (express)?

    Hi Dirk

    I found this article helpful in overcoming some of the problems:

    I went the manual-install route in the end but I think the above would have helped in the WPI route too.

    I had installed SQL Server with Windows Authentication, which throws a spanner in the works. Once it's been changed to SQL Authentication and the password reset, it logged in ok.
