    Why is SQL Server Express required when installing with Web Platform Installer

    Installing umbraco

    I'd prefer to not have to install SQL Server express on all of my web servers.  Will something go catastrophically wrong, if I opt to not install it.

    HI,

    On what kind of database would you like to install Umbraco?

    If you plan to use a normal SQL server database; then just remove SQL express and go ahead with the install. Once you'll reach to really install umbraco you'll have to specify this other SQL through a database connection string.
