how to tell if I'm running a beta?

    I have a site installed on umbraco v 4.0.0 (Assembly version: 1.0.3327.20280)

and I have a feeling this may be a beta that doesn't support upgrading, possibly even one of the nightly builds.

Is there any way I can check if this site will upgrade without issue, or if I'll have to rebuild it using a new version?

    Hi aaronb

I'm not sure wether it's a beta or not.

But why do you have concerns that you're not able to upgrade? I think that it should be possible...

    Thanks Jan,

I remember reading a while ago that some beta v4 versions could not be upgraded (due to database table changes perhaps?)

    Hi again

I've been trying to find a roadmap/history...but the only thing I've been able to find is this http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/about/roadmap/umbraco-40

I can't find anything from the version, which you have posted about. But I'm not sure that it's a beta release.

Is it possible for you to make a copy of the site and try to upgrade the copy? I think that's the only way forward...

    /Jan

Yep that's definitely an option, I think that's what I'll have to try.

    thanks again!

Yes it seems like it unless some of the other bright heads in here knows a better way around it :-)
