Which database are you using in this installation? And which skin/starter kit did you try to install. When you say it's slow, are you then talking about the backoffice or the frontend (or both)?

Hi Kim,

I use the CE database (for the first time)

I tryed all the 3 skins, none of them will install (When i thy press the inatall link from the developer tab i the administration, i just post back the site but nothing happens) When i ran setup i also selected the "personal" kit. Im not sure that worked too..

Its the administration interface that is slow when running local.

I will try a local instalation with SQL Server 2008 R2 one of the next days, just to see if thats better...
I will get back when i have done that....

I just made an local install with sql server local....
Its slow too, and have the same problems with skins when setting up..

But, i tryed on a webserver outside, and here it works fine.

So maybe its my local pc that have problems....

I haven't seen these kind of issues in the couple of installations I have tried on v4.6.

The part about the slow site could be something wih your computer. Especially when you say that it's fast when run from a webserver. Maybe it's some issues with permissions on your local machine, regarding the other problems as well. Does Umbraco have enough permissions to modify the files on your local machine?

Its maybe because i use the built in server in visual studio to run the site??
Maybe it would be better using iis local?

how can i check the "permissions" for umbraco?
