    Keep getting install screen even after installed

    I have installed umbraco using the web installer, followed the umbraco setup, successfully made it to the admin panel, but when I go to preview, I get redirected to the umbraco install.

    I am running II7. Let me know if you need anymore info. Thanks!

    Hi Bruno

    When you say "preview" is that when you try to preview a node in Umbraco or when you're trying to preview the installed site?

    Try to have a look in your web.config file and check if this line has a value:

        <add key="umbracoConfigurationStatus" value="4.6" />

    Does it have a value like above or is it empty?

    /Jan

    Jan, I added the value 4.6.1 and it worked! Thanks!

    Hi Bruno

    I'm happy to hear that. It seems to be a comon issue that some people need to set this value manually post installation and I wonder why this can be.

    But now you know the workaround if you use the installer and experience the same issue again.

    Happy umbracoing :-)

    /Jan

    I know this was answered many years ago. Just wanted to add a note that this happened to me on a 6.1.6 solution retrieved from version control which was missing content in APP_Data/umbraco.config.

    Just copied umbraco.config from the production environment an everything worked fine.

    Hope this is useful for someone visiting this even these days :-)
