Ok, I am running Windows 7 ultimate x64, IIS 7 (latest build), .NET 4.0.
My initial issues was the weird error I received when first installing the product and bringing up the initial site I created. I managed to fix that by reinstalling 4.0. apparently Visual Studio or SQL Installs messed up my 4.0 install.
Once I was past that little issue I managed to create a sample business site. I noticed when I was attempting to create a new page the "Document Type" drop down was not being populated at all. This, of course, will not allow me to create a page at all.
I checked the table in the DB and it has data in it. Anyone have any ideas as to why the drop down isn't being populated?

What version of Umbraco are you using?
Are you sure all the permissions have been set properly for network service and iusr on the umbraco root folder and inherited all the way down?
