    Missing dependency - Microsoft SQL Server Objects v10

    Hi I am trying to install umbraco on Win Server 2003..

    After providing the database details I am informed:

    "Error - The SQL provider cannot run because of a missing dependency. Please make sure that Microsoft SQL Server Management Objects (Version 10 or higher) is installed."

    Okay SMO is definitely installed I can see it clearly, in the Web Installer Platform.

    A bit more info.. Kentico installed easy as pie.

    I have been choosing to use a remote (dedicated) database, but i have also attempted it using the web servers local database. In both cases - same error message..

     

    Please any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Hi Nick,

    Have you tried removing and reinstalling the SMO components?

    You can also download the installer directly from MSCOM (make sure you pick the right SQL version and server type though)
