We have a contractor working on a site using Umbrao in his environment. Once it is completed, it will need to be imported to our environment for production. What is the best way to do this?
Alternatively you can also try to create a package with all the content you wish to export and import it on the new site. This can be a tad bit sketchy though, and require some extra cleaning up once the site is imported, but I've done it successfully a couple of times.
But Courier is probably the easiest and safest way to go if you have a lot of content.

If the production site is still empty,
copy database and ftp all files except from app_data/temp
Otherwise you need a tool called Courier
