Encrypting Mail Server Settings

Has anyone ever encrypted the mail server settings in the web.config or know an uncomplicated way of accomplishing it?

You can just use the bog standard asp.net stuff for encrypting bits of the web.config as far as I know. Info here: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2006/01/09/434893.aspx
