I have a site on one machine and want to transfer it onto another. I've done this hundreds of times without issue...simply
backup the database and the site folder
transfer to the new server
restore database and configure site under IIS
change database string
and viola...site duplicated on another machine.
The site "appears" to be working fine. The front end website is appearing fine and I can log into the back end OK too. BUT, in the members section, I don't see the A-Z folders under Members and I don't see the existing node called "Member" that has been created under the Member Type folder. (I also have a few hundred members that I cannot see as the A-Z folders aren't there.
Has anyone else come across this issue before?
Note that I can create a new member and the Member Type does appear in the create member dialog...but once created I cannot navigate back to it as the A-Z's still don't appear.
Member a-z folders missing
OK I have a curly one for you.

Hi Trevor
What version of Umbraco do you experience this in?
And are you sure that the permissions have not been messed up along the transfer process? (network service and iusr).
