Umbraco deployment to Windows Azure - without using Accelerator ?

    Hi forum,

I need help with this issue. My company is finalizing a choice of CMS for large website. CMS will run public pages, while our own web app runs in a sub-directory.

In the discussions with my tech team, some questions regarding deployment to Azure came up. The team is generally uncomfortable with the deployment model of Azure Accelerators, as some pieces of a baselayer software has to run with elevated security privileges. Not ok...

Instead, we wonder if Umbraco CMS and our own Web App can be deployed as composite sites according to this description:

    http://blog.bareweb.eu/2011/01/azure-running-multiple-web-sites-in-a-single-webrole/

    ?

As a logical consequence Both Umbraco and Web App must be in the same Visual Studio package that is deployed up to Azure. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Any clues on how to accomplish this with Umbraco, if it's doable at all?

    Regards,

    Anders
