I am a complete newbie to Umbraco so I am looking for some help. I have also signed up to the videos but I still am struggling with theming it so to speak.
Basically what I would like to know is should I always install a starter kit?
I have installed the business kit for my site but I am not sure how to apply my own design. I take it this is what the skin is for?
I read a lot that, only the CSS and a small amount of markup should be changed in the skin, if this is the case how can I create a custom design and apply my own markup?
To apply the Skin I have watched the video on this topic and followed the instructions however my skin does not seem to be overwriting the starterkit. Do I need to click apply skin? When I go to the admin and click modifyTemplateSkin i see my skin but it only has the rollback option on it.
