I am moving an umbraco site from one host to another. The old host emailed me a database.bak file and the web files. I got the new host to create the new database and erstore it with the .bak file and I have uploaded the files to the server. I also added the database login info to the web.config on the umbracoDbDSN tag.
Now when I view the home page I get the following error:
The virtual path '/default.aspx' maps to another application, which is not allowed.
I have no idea whatsoever about windows servers or .net but sort of assumed if nothing much changed, it would just work. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong and how to fix it please?
Also, in case this is important...the domain is not yet mapped to the new hosting account so the url I am viewing the error on is the temporary url e.g. "http://79.23.45.678/thedomain.co.uk/" - and once the site works I would be mapping the domain over so it will eventually just be "thedomain.co.uk"

I have now attached a proper domain temporarily to the account and get a much more comprehensive error
