I'm just dipping my toe into Umbraco as I have a client who wants a CMS based site - since I develop in asp.net this seemed to be a good option.
I've installed the VS2010 templates, created a blank Umbraco site and created a database for it and it runs OK.
But when I have problems installing packages. When I upload a package I get a message to say it's siccessful, but it doesn't appear for me to install (I've also tried a test installation on a webserver - IIS7 - and everything works OK). If I try to upload and install at the same time I get a message to say it's successful, but again it doesn't show on the screen and I can't select the action in a macro - which suggests it's not installed.
I'm guessing that I've done something stupid (very likely!) or it's something to do with IIS Express?
Has anyone seen this happen - and if so, can you help with a solution??
