It seems to me a little naive of you to order a 5.1 installation against the warning of said experts that set it up for you (I take it you mean they "warned ... it doesn't work".
That aside, though, you haven't been 'had' by Umbraco, but by a 'cowboy' company; you should see them for the company linked is at fault for selling such a package without proper testing and QA - and even based on the experiences they have obviously at least heard of. Run the other way, fast (maybe after a refund).
I've gotten excellent service from http://www.aspnethotel.dk/ and has now learned what "doesnt work" means. Yes, I was a bit naive and thought to myself, "probably some of the advanced functions dont work":o)
I now stand corrected. The released and "stable" product does not work. Not even when handled by experts. This is valuable info to other non-geeks looking at the product at this point in time.
The company will install a v4 as orginally advised.
[V5.1] Just not working out-of the box
This is a first.
I purchased a web hotel from http://www.aspnethotel.dk/.
I ordred it to come with 5.1 installed.
They warned that people says it does work.
They where right. It does not work. The /umbraco backend hangs.
Out of the box. A released version. I've touch nothing. Had experts installing it.
This is a first for me. Fabulous.
Now, where did it put my joomla link...

BTW, this is what I see. Both in Chrome and IE:
This looks familiar: http://our.umbraco.org/forum/getting-started/installing-umbraco/25098-Umbraco-backoffice-not-loading
No solution there though. Will keep looking.
