This is a fresh install of 4.0.2.1 . All database actions completed fine during wizard install, I selected a blank umbraco system ( as opposed to selecting runway) . When I browse, I get a blank page. The startup debug says...
Master template is the same as the current template. It would course an endless loop!
But still a weird error though. Thought that a blank installation was supposed to show a "under construction" image with the text "There's still work to be done" when one is doing a clean install without runway?
I don't think it should display an error message like that?
But Sebastiaan is probably right that you can quickly solve it by just publishing a site. But I understand that you are a bit puzzled about it.
Barry you are welcome. I am still wondering why the default.aspx did not contain a link to the interface though. But happy that you are able to login now :-)

Any ideas?

Seems to me like you should actually go into the backoffice and try to create a page an publish it.

/umbraco/default.aspx is blank, I get no interface...
Barry try this: http://www.yourdomain.com/umbraco/umbraco.aspx - here you will get the login interface
Hope this helps
